This recital will include one of the first live performance of Max’s "Manifestations" for solo bass, and a world premiere of his new piece, Arkhē: for mezzo-soprano, tenor, double bass, percussion, and electronics. In this electro-“oratorio,” two characters (played by mezzo-soprano Caroline Lee and tenor Kyle Felkins) look up at the night sky with reactions of both fear and wonder due to the expansive unknown it represents. Quincy Doenges plays percussion alongside Winningham on double bass.
